Benj Story Interview
Each month, we ask a photographer to picture a Corneliani Travel Jacket on someone, somewhere in the world. These shots were taken in Cannes by Benj Story, a photographer known for his use of photographic film. He likes to create atmospheric imagery that brings empty spaces to life – like in these shots of the Corneliani Identity Jacket.

Where did you take these pictures?
Benj Story: «Cannes, in the South of France».
Who’s wearing the Travel Jacket?
Benj Story «I am wearing the jacket».
What was the mood you were trying to convey?
Benj Story: «I was trying to showcase a lightness to the jacket, both in terms of the colour and the weight of the fabric. I also tried to show different situations in which it could be worn».
What does this location mean to you?
Benj Story: «I really love the vibe of Cannes and the surrounding area – it’s just a very nice part of the world».
Do you think the images you’ve captured say something about you – or do you try to keep yourself out of the frame?
Benj Story: «I generally try and keep myself out of sight and let my images do the talking, but recently I have put some effort into showing myself more».
What do you like about travelling?
Benj Story: «The experiences and the people you get to meet. My schedules are always very relaxed, and I never know where or what I will end up going and doing – the feeling of having no things to do is nice».
What does your style say about who you are?
Benj Story: «I’m pretty into fashion and dressing well. I like design of art, interiors and architecture, and with clothing this is no different: I like to find pieces that are well made. Every day, all my outfits are planned. I think it helps me have a bit of structure and control in my life, which hasn’t really got a routine».
Do you feel most like yourself when you’re at home or when you’re travelling?
Benj Story: «It’s nice to have a base, at home in the UK countryside, but I feel most like myself when I am in the mountains. I visit the Alps as much as possible, as much as five times a year».
What’s something unexpected that’s always in your suitcase?
Benj Story: «As I have matured and got older, something that I never used to think about packing was a fragrance. Now, it’s a vital part of my travel kit».
How did the Travel Jacket hold up in the field?
Benj Story: «The jacket was great; the lightness didn’t make me overheat on hot days, and then in the evening it was a perfect layer. It was nice to be able to dress it down. I either felt like Mr Ripley or James Bond, depending on how I was wearing it».
