Alberto Saguar Interview
Each month, we ask a photographer to picture a Corneliani Travel Jacket on someone, somewhere in the world. These shots were taken in Madrid by Alberto Saguar, a photographer and film director based in the city. His distinctive visual language blends art direction and editorial storytelling with a strong cinematic sensibility. His work creates carefully crafted, contemporary atmospheres full of intention and has been featured in publications such as Woman Madame Figaro, Schön! Magazine, Vogue Business, Forbes, Lula Japan, Esquire, Marie Claire Hong Kong and InStyle.

Where did you take these pictures?
Alberto Saguar: «I took them around the Royal Palace of Madrid».
Who’s wearing the Travel Jacket?
Alberto Saguar «Me. Even though being in front of the camera was a challenge for me...».
What was the mood you were trying to convey?
Alberto Saguar: «I like unexpected photos – ones that capture movement, where the setting and atmosphere feel like important characters that tell a story».
What does this location mean to you?
Alberto Saguar: «It’s an area I always come back to for walks and to watch the sunset. There are always lots of tourists, and it feels very lively. After sunset, everything changes and it becomes a very peaceful place».
Do you think the images you’ve captured say something about you – or do you try to keep yourself out of the frame?
Alberto Saguar: «I’m usually behind the camera. Being in front of it this time was more difficult than I expected! My friend David helped me take the photos, and in the end we had a really fun time – I’m grateful to him».
What do you like about travelling?
Alberto Saguar: «Having the chance to walk through streets and squares for the first time without having any idea what’s waiting for you around the corner. That constant feeling of excitement for something new».».
What does your style say about who you are?
Alberto Saguar: «I usually wear comfortable pieces in neutral colours. I like oversized clothing without logos or prints. With warmer weather arriving, I’ve started incorporating more colourful pieces».
Do you feel most like yourself when you’re at home or when you’re travelling?
Alberto Saguar: «I really enjoy being at home watching movies, tucked away like it’s a cave... but I think travelling is something that makes us feel free, and it’s important to see the world in order to get to know yourself».
What’s something unexpected that’s always in your suitcase?
Alberto Saguar: «I always bring several pairs of earphones to listen to music because I tend to lose them – and music is essential».
How did the Travel Jacket hold up in the field?
Alberto Saguar: «I was surprised by how lightweight it was and how comfortable linen feels to wear. I think from now on I’ll start incorporating more pieces made from that material because of how versatile it is».
