Markus Pritzi Interview
Each month, we ask a photographer to picture a Corneliani Identity Jacket on someone, somewhere in the world. This month’s images come from Markus Pritzi, a photographer born and raised in the Italian Alps, now based between Germany and Paris. Markus developed a practice defined by intuition and emotion – a spontaneous pursuit of the moments where curiosity and attraction meet. He draws inspiration from everyday life and the human form, and has collaborated with brands such as Hermès, Dior and Fendi, as well as international publications including Vogue, Numéro and Dazed & Confused.

Where did you take these pictures?
Markus Pritzi: «In and around the Tuileries Garden, in the centre of Paris».
Who’s wearing the Identity Jacket?
Markus Pritzi: «Andreas, a friend of mine who’s also a young photographer and camera enthusiast».
What was the mood you were trying to convey?
Markus Pritzi: «A typical autumn evening in Paris».
What does this location mean to you?
Markus Pritzi: «It’s a great spot to take a break and sit in the sun by one of the fountains, enjoying the view of the Louvre and the Jeu de Paume – or to go for a jog around».
Do you think the images you’ve captured say something about you – or do you try to keep yourself out of the frame?
Markus Pritzi: «I would say I adapt to the situation».
What do you like about travelling?
Markus Pritzi: «I love to explore and I love adventure – I find it inspiring, both in my personal life and in my photographic work».
What does your style say about who you are?
Markus Pritzi: «I’m a very curious and adventurous person, and I’m interested in people. But at the same time, I’m quite reserved and a little shy – and this duality comes across in my style».
Do you feel most like yourself when you’re at home or when you’re travelling?
Markus Pritzi: «I would say when I’m travelling, or when I’m at home in my family house in the Italian Alps, where I was born».
What’s something unexpected that’s always in your suitcase?
Markus Pritzi: «Something very personal my mother gave me when I moved out at the age of 19 – it travels with me everywhere».
How did the Identity Jacket hold up in the field?
Markus Pritzi: «Andreas loved it – and kept it».
