SPRING/SUMMER 2020

1969/2019. “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” Quentin Tarantino’s 9th movie set in the United States during the
explosion of the hippie movement. Today’s politics and social instability, the new ecological and cultural battles. A
great turmoil generated by the discontent which defined the Seventies, and which is back today with a renewed
energy.
A 70’s spirit, free from any nostalgic and vintage vibe, inspires the Corneliani Spring/Summer 2020 collection.
Looking to the archives, the brand rediscovers a hyper sophisticated allure, which is projected into the
contemporary world through fabrics and high-tech technologies. Everything revolves around an impeccable,
masculine, refined yet spontaneous and comfortable style.
An icon of the Seventies’ youth culture, the military eskimo makes a comeback with oversized silhouettes and
lightweight constructions and materials. Reflective details introduce an avant-garde feel, while a supple leather
reversible bomber, which reveals a college-like varsity jacket, celebrates urban versatility.

A compact silk and cotton popeline is the signature fabric of ultra-light suits showing performance finishing and deconstructed cuts. Pants sport elastic waistbands for a casual mood or are infused with a more elegant charm. A homage to the Eighties’, the Vogue suit reflects an assertive elegance with its one-and-half-breasted blazer to be worn open and matched with wide-legged pants. Inside pockets, zippers and reflective details characterize the techno-blazers crafted from waterproof, ripstop and wrinkle resistant fabrics, while an explosion of stripes define knitwear. Embossed, jacquard or printed, stripes add a graphic twist to linen, cotton and silk garments, revealing intriguing degrade effects.

Showing Corneliani more casual spirit, the “Style & Freedom” capsule welcomes new hybrid pieces, such as sweatshirt-windbreakers, as well as the hoodie-inspired jackets crafted from stretch suede, decorated with graphics and color blocks echoing a varsity aesthetic. The collection’s overall sense of lightness and softness influences footwear, where the brand introduces a series of both casual and formal styles, all crafted from deer and calf leather and featuring flexible uppers and ultra-light soles.
